Bye August!

Happy end of the month people! 

It's been a great month (but also so sad) . From the beginning to the end. I loved going back to University and switching up my style a bit. The cooler months are the best for me, I love bundling up in warm clothes, and layering is my favourite statement. 

I have so much things going on these months and upcoming weeks, from reading to events that I'm super excited for. When the time comes, I might be able to share them with you! I have nothing set in stone for some projects but lets see what come along! 

In general, I hope September is as good as August and that it will open some more doors for me. 

I hope you had a great month and that are enjoying every second of life.

Coffee Addict in Tea rehab

I've been drinking so much coffee lately that I feel it can't be good. The past few days, I've tried to get back down with it and try a healthier option, which is tea. I love tea also. I've drank  it all my life and my favourite one is Green Tea with Lemon Ginseng from Lipton, it is very good. I never drink it with sugar, I don't like the majority of my teas with sugar. 

Another kind of tea that I was recently introduced to was Red Tea. I had some scepticism about trying it, but finally did and pretty much love it. At first it tastes a little sour and strong, not a very pleasant sensation but, the next few sips, it gets better and better. 

A side from the taste and the actual colour, which is, ehhh well, red. It has great benefits for your health and is a great anti-oxidant. You may have wonder why Chinese and Asian people in general are so wrinkle free? well that is the answer. Go check some of the benefits red tea has here and let me know if you have tried it or if you would like to try it.

When I saw this baby I just fell deep in love and I don't know how to survive now! I will have to break my piggy bank and do a little spending! I just love that it is girly hot pink and have the edge of the studs. It makes it feel dangerous, like I could make some serious damage to anyone who wants to stole it :)

As I've been sick as a mad woman has, I've been working long hours in my laptop rather than my usual Desktop that I use on a daily basis. So not all my music is here and my iPod just passed to a better life (I need an upgrade badly) therefor I have some other music here and I was listening to it and got inspired. Sunday Funday: Harry Potter movies!

I'm a total HP nerd and to have had a marathon of the 2 installments of the 7th movie just made my day!

It is the perfect way to spend a Sunday, just watching movies, and if are those, for me, it much much muchhhh better! i passed the notice among my friends, we all live kind of far from each other, but we all totally watched them, separately, and just freaked on over it.

I know we are such little dorks when it comes to Harry Potter anything :) <3 love is the key for everything you all!

I might do a series about this. hhhmmm I'll think about it :) Maybe some collabs on the way? maybe maybee

My Everyday beauty and makeup routine

I normally don't wear much makeup, just for when I am having a big party, where all my friends or family are going to be and it is a more "fancy" one. I tend to go bare skin to where ever I go. Specially if I am running errands. Not much interesting people to find when you are grocery shopping is there? 

Well, lately I've been obsessed with going out, more often, and heading to class, with at least my eyes eye lined, with some mascara and color on my lips. That is all I use. 

So my routine starts in the morning by washing my face and moisturizing it, I take a shower every other day. Then I chose my outfit and then get my hands on my eyeliner, mascara and lipstick. The color of lipsticks tend to be very subtle and natural for daily wear. I leave the bold colors for meeting my friends at night and having a good time.

Miley's Hair..what's going on?

I know it's been a few weeks now, but I just wanted to address this. What is going on with Miley's hair? I think she went a little too far with the I am a grown up, I do what I want with my hair view, but seriously it's such a dramatic change, I am not getting any more used to seeing her like this: 

too blond and too short, I liked her brown long curly and healthy hair. It made her look younger and fresh. 

I am not saying that she doesn't look great, but it is just something very very new. It's like that time when Emma Watson went in to the hair dresser and came out with this pixie hair cut. She still looked great, but it was something ver very very different from what we were used to seeing her with. 

It seems that some celebs just want to break out from their roles that made them mega famous.

In Sickness and in health...

The majority of University students might already know this, but for those who don't I leave you here what being sick during classes looks like (or...feels like). 

Picture yourself with a runny nose, sneezing non-stop, feeling like a truck just run you over and to top it all like a cherry in your favorite ice-cream, your coughing like a dog... Sick to the bones (well today is one of those days for me). 

It's time for you to get going to class, but you just don't want to move from your bed, not even take off you pink bunny fuzzy PJ`s. If you don't go, you might miss something important from lecture and might get behind on the work you have to deliver for next week. It's a very difficult point to be standing in. HORRIBLE. 

University, college and grad school  are like being married. It is stuck with you in sickness and in health and will not care if you look (and feel) your worse, it is just standing there by your side, waiting for you to be faithful to your commitment. 

Me right now :(

Oh dear, I feel like this huge tower was demolished over me and I got burrowed within. But unfortunately I have to go to classes and read. My head is in so much pain that I can hardly concentrate, but I try to do my best with this. To top it all, I need to handle a situation with one of my groups. 

I hope you guys are taking care of yourselves to prevent any illness, be smart and transition to the different seasons correctly. You will not want to feel like I am toping it all with the stress of classes.

Back to School(well.. University): First Week

Today begins my second week of classes. It's weird to start on a Wednesday, it totally freaks out my biological calendar. I'm a person of habit, but I try to always switch things up and want to get out of my comfort zone. This week has been quite like that. I decided to take a workshop during the first days of classes where they taught us how to handle making the CV, the personal interviews and test when you apply for a job and how to dress properly for it. 

It was a huge success for me, I went all by my self when normally I'd ask for a friend to come with me. I feel I am becoming a little more secure and confident every time I take little steps like this one. Baby steps they say.

As long as classes go, each and every single them have their positive and negative aspects. But luckily I am focusing more on the positives than the negatives. The teachers all seem nice and are very immersed in what they know and have a lot of good advice and experiences to share. The work for these classes has doubled up. I already have way too much readings to catch up with, but I am not complaining, I am quite enjoying the fact that I will be reading more, something I just don't do so much. 

Speaking of reading...Our brand new Library building. 
The weather is awful, I have been going to University with many layers of clothes so that I don't freeze to death, and to compensate that I have been drinking lots of coffee (surprised?). I have really missed being in there. Those walls and the corridors are just great, they are like my 3 security blanket, the first is home, the second one is my school. Oh and the people, yes, I've made good friends and met a lot of different people all with great stories to tell.

Fun Trivia + 200th post

Today is a very special one, it marks my 200th post!! Yayyy! 

For today, being Tuesday and a huge milestone for my blogging history (I can't believe I have written so much guys!), I was thinking on doing a huge wordy post, and then I realized that probably that would be so boring and not very didactic at all. I have been jotting down so many ideas about what to make off of this one and decided to post some facts about my style and my healthy habits, 3 facts for each category for you to know me a little bit better. 


Fact 1: On winter I like to be comfortable, warm and still look pretty. I achieve this by layering my clothes. I did a post about how I layer everything for this crazy weather we handle in Peru.


Fact 2: I love me some UGGs. Yes, they are the most, non-stylish boots like..ever but they are so comfortable that are my number one choice when I need to head out to class in a chilli winter morning. Although I try my best not to wear them very often, in those lazy, I-don't-want-to-think-too-much mornings are my go to pair. 

Fact 3: I used to be hoodie-crazy. I wore hoodies all the time and were my fashion fail a long time ago. I am not very proud of this phase, but still have them. I use them to work out and to through them on to run some quick errands to the local grocery store or food market. 

Healthy Habits

Fact 1: I am a fruit lover! Yes, I love the sweetness they have and those little aspects that keep my sweet tooth at ease when I am in a candy-rehab. I struggle a lot with that and just found that fruit did the charm. They are my healthier options of a carrot cake. 

Fact 2: I hate working out. There I said it. Although I try to keep it up for a healthier lifestyle, if I find the chance on skipping a workout session I will. Sometimes I'll enjoy it. The times where I feel more stressed or worried, I'll release my frustration on hoping on the stationary bicycle and sweating it off. That is when I enjoy it the most.  Or I'll walk. The most relaxed way of keeping it healthier and fit. I also did a post on that matter

Fact 3: I tend to under drink water.I've done quite a share of water posts previously and well, this is what I pray for but not quite accomplish..sorry :(  Some days I just don't drink much water, I don't know why that is, I have my bobble and all so I have no valid excuses on not drinking enough water. It is something that I just don't take into consideration. It is bad for my system and I will try to improve on this aspect. 

Well, that was interesting, I hope this facts are interesting and quite didactic on my few hits and misses. Oh, and it turned up to be a long worthy post :/ but quite nice in my opinion. It was fun to introduce you to them.

Sunday Funday: Movie Night

Hey Everyone!!

I hope you all are having a great weekend! Here I am just freezing so much and all I want to do is bundle up in a blanket and do nothing for the rest of the day.

Yesterday was such a nice day! A very good friend from High School celebrated her Birth Day at her house with some other friends from school. Ones I had stop seeing for like 2 years. It was so nice to get to talk to them and catch up with the things we are doing and achieving in our lives.

Today I have planned to watch a movie. To be more specific, Pretty Woman, with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. It is one of my favourite movies and I haven't seen it for a long time.

To pair this Pretty Woman night I will have some popcorn! and I will be forever Happy with it. Time to relax after a very productive first week of classes for me.

Back to school: Snack Options

Hey Everyone! 

While I've been doing a ton of reading for classes just in 3 days back at Uni, I've figured out that snacking is constantly in my mind more than eating actual full meals. I am not skipping on them, it's just that I have more pick-me-ups through the day. 

What I'll do is eat breakfast early in the morning, keep with my routine (reading, writing, blogging, etc) and I'll get a little anxious, or just plain bored that I have to keep me busy with something else while doing it all, I'll grab 20 almonds, and eat them slowly so that I don't run out of them too fast, and drink some water or tea or coffee. Coffee is what the majority of university students indulge in most of the time. One can never have too many cups of it. 

After Lunch, sometimes I have class and I am busy paying attention to the professors and the subject that all I can manage, in a break, is grab an apple, or any other fruit that can be eaten with out making a mess out of it. And that is pretty much it, oh and the coffee to keep me awake. 

So snacking is your best friend students! keep that in mind.

Another idea is to get some proteins going, take a piece of grilled chicken breast and eat it in between meals. The protein will give you more energy to keep going. 

Also, having a snack in between foods will make you less hungry for the actual meal making you eat a little less than you would normally eat. This is a great tip for those who want to stay fitter and leaner and maintain a good weight range.

Updatable me: Back to classes

Hey everyone! 

As some may know already, I am back at University. I've been back for just 2 days and I feel the teachers are giving us a lot of work already! Final projects, essays, presentations, well indeed a lot! I am feeling exhausted but I have the feeling that this is going to be a great semester! I have recovered some great tips on getting organized for these projects, specially from The College Prepster, that I feel ready and it's nice to see that other students have great organizational tips! I might write a post or 2 on the subject with the tips I've gathered also through my personal experiences and what I have mixed with other tips I have received. 

My time now is going to be a little more limited because of the pressure of all the classes and managing group meetings, CV meetings and all, but I will try my best to keep up with everything and will try my best to balance it all out. 

I hope you understand and that I love everything I do and sometimes have to prioritize on certain aspects, specially in my academic life.

Back to School: Notebooks

Hey Everyone!

I have been supply shopping for University and came across some pretty notebooks. I always, always, always use notebooks, binders, for me, are just so bulky and non-functional at all. What I do, is buy 2 of 5 subject squared paper notebooks and divide them  with in the classes I have. Lined paper is just not something I like. 

The notebooks I bought where from a local brand called Norma, which has a wide variety of designs. I tend to gravitate to the pretty and girly and fun designs. Last semester I bought one with Hello Kitty in the cover, which also came with...wait up! STICKERS! Oh I'm such a small kid with my sticker mania :) 

This semester I went for this cute Chococat cover one.

And this Paul Frank one.

I am taking 7 classes, 5 from this semester and 2 from an advanced one to make my next semester a little less stressful. 

You always have to go for the method you like the most and works out for you the best way. I like my notebooks for note taking and I literally write every important piece of the class into them.

Sunday Funday: BBQ Pizza

Hey Everyone! 

It's been a couple of super hard and sad days in my house. But I think it's time to keep going even though it's as difficult as hell and I know my pretty baby is in a better place and she is watching us and playing happily with her doggy toys and running in a vast and immense green field.  

So today, Sunday, we have been a little indulgent and for tonight we bought ingredients to make a very yummy BBQ Pizza we saw on TV.

Right now, I am watching the closing ceremony of the Olympic games which is AH-MAZING, no other words to describe it. What a nice relaxing Sunday.

Hey Everyone!

I start my posts every time with this, I might switch it up a bit for the next ones. Any who's, today I will talk to you about this navy blue colour that I am rocking a few times this month and currently am. It belongs to the brand Colorama from Maybelline and it is called Marinho, as you can tell from the title.  It has a really nice, very small and fine red glitter that gives it a purple shine when seen at light. Here is a picture of it. You can't see that shine with the picture but it really is very pretty.

Gone too soon

There is nothing as hard as the loss of someone you love. Specially if the love you had was unconditional and immensely profound. I have a hard time with good-byes. That kind of good-byes. One of my little furry ones gave up yesterday to the hardest of her battles. After saving her the first time from kidney and hepatic failure, her back legs started to fail her too. She started treatment for this on Monday, by yesterday she seemed to have improved when she got to the vet for her dose of the day. She was fine, I had to massage her in form of therapy 3 times a day, by night I did this with my mum, she was so good and so relaxed that nothing seemed to be going wrong. We left her in her bed, covered with a little blanket we bought her, and headed out to grab dinner in the dinning room. We think her heart gave up, she was not eating as good as we wished but we did what was in our power to keep her strong with vitamins and all that jazz. When we entered the room again 15 mins later, she didn't respond to us, and that was it. 

She was a great dog, the best of companions for 6 years. In deed she's gone too soon. She will be forever loved and missed. 

I have no more words to describe this feelings of sorrow and bitterness and more. I'm sorry for this sad post, but I am crushed. I still have my other little furry baby, she's here and I will cherish her for as long as she stays with us.

Back to School: Heavy Duty Calculator

Hey Everyone!

It's about time to start school, college, university, you name it. It always comes in handy to have a nice and powerful device to do mathematical calculus when a class requires it. I am a huge sucker for those big and bulky calculators. I am a nerd at heart and soul. 

There are various options in the market of these great calculators. For example, the Texas Instruments brand have a really nice and great quality calculators. This model, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is the one that most of my fellow class students were using at high-school and was a rock. And you can change the cases of this calculator any time you want to the colour you desire.

The next calculator was the one that all of my friends used. It is a Casio CFX-9850GC Plus in colours. It was, and still is, my baby. It is great to draw graphs, do derivatives, equations and every other mathematical problem your teachers present you.  This model was recommended to us by our science teacher. He swore on these calculators and he was so right. I use it for everything from a simple add up of 60+96 or a very long 2 variable equation. 

Another calculator, also from Casio, is a more recent model of my dearly beloved GC plus. It is the FX-9860GII. It has all the features of the later calculator but also has a USB cable in which you can download every data you have, both in your computer and the calculator, to have it everywhere. 


So with any of these calculators you could be prepared to rock those maths problems and get good grades hopefully. Before you buy them, be sure that they meet the requirements for the classes and what the teachers recommend. There is also a great variety of non-graphic calculators, which are much simpler to use.

Parlez-Vous OPI?

This colour of nail polish is super pretty for winter, it is not super dark. It is a muted colour more like a greyish lilac. It is called Parlez-Vous OPI and it came out with their French Collection a couple of years back. It is classy and feminine. Here is a picture of this pretty colour.

Sunday Funday: Sweet Indulgement

Hey Everyone! 

So a couple of posts back I said I would cut back on sweets, but sometime after having been good for a while, I could have some sweet treatments. And now, I have been good for a while, and it's time for me to treat myself with some delicious goodness. Crepe's with Milk Toffee spread! YUM so sweet and so good. We like to indulge on them when we make them because we don't have them all the time. This is because they are super super sweet and our cravings for them is satisfied for a very long time after that.  

You can have crepes for lunch also and make a wrap with them with your chicken, meat or turkey and are super good in that way too. Also, if you don't like it with that amount of sweetness you can always have them with fresh fruit, ice-cream or whipped cream. So good.

Beauty Vlogger Bootcamp: And now what?

Hey everyone! 

I know I haven't done any posts in the last few weeks commenting about the show and the finalists. I will not bore you with excuses because I have non really, I just got distracted by other topics. So now, I will give you my comments on the season's finally and the couple last episodes which were Rachel's  and Giselle's final challenges and vlogs for the viewers in order to get to know them better in their more relaxed and not crazed selves. 

The volg that Rachel prepared for the challenge was about how to style an outfit for different moments of the day, a relaxed morning, an afternoon with friends having lunch or at a night's date or a girl's night out down town. It was super didactic and super useful. It really showed how she rolls and made her personality shine through the entire video. 

On the other hand we had Giselle's vlog which was about going from plain, yes plain, to polished. She gave a lot of good advise and tips and tricks to spice up your face and your looks if you are running wild through the day and have little time to prep for the different events of the day. She has a really good know-how on her topics and shows it. 

Both contestants did a great job on their final vlogs and just knocked some people off their feet. In the end, Rachel won but was just a 100 or so votes ahead Giselle. This shows how good both vlogs were and had a very tight margin of competition.

And as for Beauty Vlogger Bootcamp? Well, they will have a second season! I am excited to see what new challenges are they going to put new contestants through and how are they going to respond. Casting has already started and you can find all the details here if you are in the USA and want to submit your video to them :)

Modern Girl

Hey Everyone!

OPI Fan? well yes, I am, but here it is one expensive brand so my collection is very poor for what I liked it to be. One of my favourite colours is Mod-ern Girl. It is a nice coral with pink undertones and is very flashy. It is great for summer. I am in love with bright fun colours, maybe because they give that fun pop of young and happy vibes.  Here is a picture of the nail polish so you can get an idea of how it looks.

The picture is not making it justice but it is more inclined to the accurate part. You can still see the lovely coral that it is. 

Corals and tangerines are great for this season. Have you tried them on now?

Meal Diary: Thursday 08/02/2012

Hey Everyone!

It's been a while since I've posted my meal diaries for the day. I have been eating so off that I couldn't find something worth posting, I was just too ashamed of what I ate. So a couple of weeks ago I changed back my routine and I will be posting more meal diaries to a healthy life style.

So, without further ado, my meal diary of the day!


  • natural yoghurt 
  • 1 spoon of honey
  • 1 sliced banana 
  • 20 gr of cereal 

  • 1 apple
  • 1 spoon  of peanut butter

  • sliced carrot
  • 1 cup of broccoli 
  • 2 slices of white potato 
  • grilled chicken breast
  • ranch to go over the carrot and the broccoli 

  • 1/2 cup strawberries   
  • Pita Bread with green olives
  • 1 cup of vanilla flavoured red tea. 
:) here you go! what I ate today and I am still so full! yummy and healthy.

August Rush

Hey Everyone! 

It's August already! I can't believe how fast July has come and go. As the month gets to a start, Back to School is just weeks around the corner (or maybe just few days around it!). I have already worked out my class schedule and find it a very nice and relaxed one. I will have good amount of times to space my working commitments! 

This is a post where I wanted to tell you that I will do some back to school posts to help everyone going back to classes a little more all from Fashion to School Supplies, which are always a must (DUH!). I am starting my Junior year of University, so this posts might be more focused in that matters but also on high school because that is the most that I can remember from previous years. 

I still love to go supply shopping and am like a little kid left alone in a candy store! let's face it, I still am a little kid at heart.
